If I put your TwitPic user name into the ShowTwitPic module on any of my websites, your picture will show up fine.

Unless your ISP web server has an unusual configuration, the only thing I can think of is an unknown conflict with another module. If you have a test server, you can turn off all the other modules and see if ShowTwitPic module works by itself. If it does, turn on the other modules one by one until it stops working.

You should be using the secondary parser since that will be the default parser in the next minor release and the primary parser will be removed in the next major release.

PROBLEM: When using the Show TwitPic module with either the Show TweetPhoto or Show TwitGoo modules, the website loads a blank page.

WORKAROUND: Change the RSS Parser from Primary to Secondary in the module parameters. The secondary parser is what the other modules are using by default.

THE FIX: The next minor release of the Show TwitPic module will have the secondary RSS parser enabled by default. The next major release of the Show TwitPic module will have the primary RSS parser removed.

The ISP hosting my three websites and a dozen email accounts disappeared from the Internet for 36 hours last week, starting on Thursday morning at 10:00AM and ending Friday night at 9:30PM. If the outage had lasted less than 24 hours, I would’ve shrugged my shoulders and went on with life. Outages do happen from time to time. I started looking into alternative web hosting when 24 hours came and went, and discovered that my domain registrar, DirectNIC, could host my websites for half the monthly cost that I was paying. By the time the outage was over, I had already transferred my websites over. This was purely a business decision.

A more detailed explanation can be found on my writing blog (http://blog.cdreimer.com/2010/07/14/recovering-from-a-disappearing-isp/). If you find any glitches on the website, send me an email to webmaster at cdreimer-associates.com.

Nearly a year ago, I only had one Joomla! module that I wrote on a lark to satisfy a need. Now I have seven Joomla! modules (granted that only two were original) and a Quake 2 utility written in ANSI C. It came time to reorganize the forums.

All the Joomla! 1.5 modules can be found under Joomla! 1.5 Modules in alphabetical order. I still have not done any Joomla! 1.6 testing yet. If what I read is correct, all my modules will need to be repackaged. Expect a new section if that's the case. I'm also planning for a component project and a corresponding section in the near future.

The Quake 2 utility is in a forum by itself for now. If I write another utility for Quake 2 or for a different game, I'll create a new container to organize them.

The nice thing about Kunena Forums is that the URL for the forum and threads don't change because of the reorganization.

This command line utility will parse a Quake 2 map file to report how many entities and textures are being used. Useful for spotting extra items to improve gameplay balance and/or reducing extra textures to increase map speed. Most map editors do not provide a detailed breakdown of what is inside a map.

http://www.cdreimer-associates.com/data/images/mapinfo.jpg

Map Info should be compatible with any Quake 2 (ID Tech 2) game engine if the map file format has not be altered.

If a game has a different map format, you can modify the source code to reflect the new format. If you make such a modification, please email me the modification and a map file to test against.

If you want me to make the modification, please email the name of the game and a map file to test against. An ideal map file would be the example map provided by the game (e.g., base1.map for Quake 2). I will implement an option switch for that map format and release a new version of Map Info.
