About CDR&A Print E-mail

C.D. Reimer & Associates is the business that Christopher D. Reimer created in June 2006.  Originally for an IT consulting business that never got off the ground no matter how many consulting books he read.  The next big idea was to develop casual video games but the start up costs and risk versus reward analysis weren't acceptable.  (If the the business was put together a year later, creating casual video games for the Apple iPhone would have been a serious money maker.)  Like so many other start ups in Silicon Valley, CDR&A was left floundering for a viable business model.

When Chris rediscovered his passion for writing that he put aside as a teenager twenty years before, he decided to become a writer and that became the main business focus for CDR&A in January 2007.   Although rejection slips and contributor copies don't pay the bills, he is determined to make a living as a full time writer by 2015.  Writing under a shorter version of his name—C.D. Reimer—to avoid confusion with all the other Chris Reimer of the world, he is currently working on his first novel, a short story collection, and various short stories and essays for publication.

CDR&A was not his first business venture.  He started a Wildcat! BBS called Once Upon An Albatross... in 1994 while still in college.  What was supposed to be an online empire was soon wiped out by something called THE INTERNET, and he became a dot com bust in 1996 before dot com busts became de rigeur in 2001.

Chris was born in Silicon Valley in 1969.  Being one of the few born-and-raised natives who haven't moved here from somewhere else, he continues to live and work in Silicon Valley.  He dropped out of high school after three months in the ninth grade in 1984, graduated from San Jose City College with an associate of arts degree in General Education in 1994,  got kicked out of San Jose State University in 1995, and graduated again from SJCC with an associate degree of science in Computer Programming in 2007.  When he becomes a best selling writer, he plans to return to the university to earn a bachelor degree in ancient history.

Along with an author website and a blog website, Chris also writes open source web software for the Joomla! CMS and has a support forum for related issues.  He can be contacted here.
